The Kelly Canyon area of Bozeman, MT encompasses the real estate area southeast of Bridger Canyon Road and north of the Frontage Road. Kelly Canyon Road is the primary road through this area and is approximately 17 miles long. Kelly Canyon Road intersects Bridger Canyon Road just before the 7 mile marker at the Lower Bridger Canyon Schoolhouse. From there it proceeds southeast traversing the Bangtail Mountains until intersecting Story Hill Road, which then intersects Frontage Road. This area provides wonderful views of Bridger Mountain Range to the west, and Absaroka Mountains to the southeast.
The northern half of Kelly Canyon is part of the Bridger Canyon Rural Zoning District. The Bridger Canyon rural zoning district was established in 1973 setting the home density to 1 home for every 40 acres minimum. The existence of these protective covenants along with the bordering Gallatin National Forest lead to the area’s pristine rural character.
The southern half of Kelly Canyon is part of the Bozeman Pass Zoning District. The Bozeman Pass Zoning District was established in 2002, giving this area zoning requirements similar to those of Bridger Canyon Zoning District.
